Poem

DAY BREAK What a beautiful morning, the sun is shining bright, it makes my heart sing, as it removes the darkness, and reveals it’s marvelous light. The bright reflection on the water, shines so brightly in my eyes, and in the pines, a lonesome dove, makes it’s lonely cry, but off to the right, I hear a robin sing, cheer up, cheer up, it is spring! ~ Winston Staples

Favourite Bible Verses!

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 King James Version 13  But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. 14  For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. 15  For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. 16  For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17  Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18  Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

Bible Verses!

Over the past seventy years I have read many bible verses written by 40 different authors guided by the same Holy Spirit. Of all the writers the Apostle Paul is my favourite. Tonight’s verses are: Colossians 3:10-17King James Version 10  And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him: 11  Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcisen, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all. 12  Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; 13  Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. 14  And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness. 15  And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. 16  Let the word of...

MIND WANDERING!

MIND WANDERING! Posted on   December 30, 2023   by   wint68,70pluswint I went for a walk today, through the corridors of my mind, searching for something special; I walked down the valley of the past, I stopped at an outdoor rink, put on my skates and glided up and down, I was going so fast I lost balance and fell. I pretended I was playing with the Canadians; I was on a line with Rocket Richard, Oh, what a dream. Now I wandered into my spiritual lane, I recalled the night in 1958,in a revival meeting, I decided to follow Jesus as my Saviour and guide. Since that day there has been no turning back; He has guided every footstep on this road to Heaven, and by His Holy Spirit He teaches me the Scriptures as I read. I thank Him for giving the Gentiles their own Apostle Paul. Paul went through so many trials to bring us the Gospel we have today, that Jesus was crucified for our sin, buried for 3 days then arose the third day victorious for evermore. We have this victory by putt...

Christmas Reading!

Luke 1:35-53 King James Version 35  And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God. 36  And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren. 37  For with God nothing shall be impossible. 38  And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her. 39  And Mary arose in those days, and went into the hill country with haste, into a city of Juda; 40  And entered into the house of Zacharias, and saluted Elisabeth. 41  And it came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost: 42  And she spake out with a loud voice, and said, Blessed art thou amon...

Christmas Thoughts!

As I sit looking out my window watching the traffic go by, and listening to Christmas carols, my mind wondered into the past, yes, the Christmas past; to the days of childhood, when Christmas was special, not for the gifts but for the presence, the wonderful presence of family, and the smell of roasting turkey, and freshly baked mince pie. Mother would make a large batch, batch of mince meat to last the Winter; I remember turning the grinder, to chop up the beef and pork and 15 pound of apples; Oh, so good smelling as it simmered on, on the old wood stove. Later in life my dear wife and I, made a large batch to last the Winter. Dad and Mother loved Christmas, as their children do as we take time to enjoy family, and reflect on the real meaning of Christmas. God came to earth to live with sinful mankind. He was a baby like us with one exception; He was sin free and came to set us free, He showed us the way, the old rugged cross, He endured the torture and the awful weight, the weig...

Christmas!

CHRISTMAS: It’s Christmas, it’s Christmas, let our hearts joyfully sing, God sent His Son to earth, His gift of salvation to bring, as a babe in a manger, not as a mighty king. Christmas is not Santa Clause, or tinsel hanging on a tree, Christmas is the gift of God’s Son, salvation for you and me. Christmas is not Frosty the snowman, or Rudolph the red nosed reindeer, It’s the celebration of Jesus birthday, the beginning of God’s salvation plan. It’s Christmas, it’s Christmas, let our hearts joyfully sing, those good old Christmas carols, proclaiming the birth of Jesus, they so joyfully bring. ~Winston Staples May you have the gladness of Christmas which is hope; The spirit of Christmas which is peace; The heart of Christmas which is love. ~Ada V. Hendricks Wishing you a joyous Christmas as we reflect upon the birth of our Savior! The thing we must not forget is the reason that Jesus was born; His purpose was to sacrifice His life that we would through His blood have a way back into th...
