Quotes for Today

Today as I sit in front of my lap top and thumbing through a note book I came across the two quotes which I now share with you all. ' Do not ask where the pathway lead,go instead  where there is no path and leave a trail."  ~Ralph Waldo Emerson : Be a good listener, your ears will never get you in trouble" ~Frank Tyger

Bible Reading for All!

150  They draw nigh that follow after mischief: they are far from thy law. 151  Thou art near, O  Lord ; and all thy commandments are truth. 152  Concerning thy testimonies, I have known of old that thou hast founded them for ever. 153  Consider mine affliction, and deliver me: for I do not forget thy law. 154  Plead my cause, and deliver me: quicken me according to thy word. 155  Salvation is far from the wicked: for they seek not thy statutes. 156  Great are thy tender mercies, O  Lord : quicken me according to thy judgments. 157  Many are my persecutors and mine enemies; yet do I not decline from thy testimonies. 158  I beheld the transgressors, and was grieved; because they kept not thy word. 159  Consider how I love thy precepts: quicken me, O  Lord , according to thy lovingkindness. 160  Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever. Bible Verse for Today!

Hebrews 12:2 King James Version 2  Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

The Stream!

The Stream There is a crooked stream, running quiet and still, just half a mile, over that hill. One day last fall, there was a big rain, that old stream was raging, a rage no man could tame. It roared and rushed, took houses and land, where ever it went, it obeyed no command. Sometimes our life, is like that stream, all peaceful and calm, then comes trials, that explode like a bomb. We have a place, where we can go, to our Heavenly Father, who by His loving hand, soothes and calms, that raging stream, with one command, it obeys His will, as He speaks, Peace be still. –Winston Staples– Share this: face book, twitter

A Writing!

O, what a beautiful day, beautiful September morn, the sun shines bright, and the dew, still lies heavy on the corn. The robins peep, everywhere, taking care of their young, another day so precious, and still so many blessings, blessings to come. The crows fly high, the eagle soars, the neighbors, saw up winter wood; O, how I love the saw sound, from next door. The hymns I enjoy, on the computer play, they are soothing, and blessing me today. The words I hear, refresh my thinking, and remind me, God is very near, very near, He never departs, His spirit dwells, dwells in my heart! written by Winston Staples

Someone is Calling!

When I was a young lad, I would go fishing in the brook close to home. After I was gone a short while,  it seemed like, my mother would call out loud seeking my health and welfare status and I will never forget her calling me to supper. Like my mother’s call, God also calls us to come to Him; in the next few writings we are going to see what His word tells about His calling nations and people unto Himself. Isaiah 55: 5  Behold, thou shalt call a nation that thou knowest not, and nations that knew not thee shall run unto thee because of theLord thy God, and for the Holy One of Israel; for he hath glorified thee.  Romans 1:Among whom are ye also the called of Jesus Christ:  God sends His call by CHRIST! Revelation 22: 17  And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.   God gives the call to come by His HOLY SPIRIT! Psalms 19: 2 ...

Someone’s Calling   Hi! Today opens the moose season here and there is a lot of hunters looking for a moose, so there is a lot of calling for a moose to answer. The last blog,  we  looked what the Bible said about the call of God, today we will continue. Isaiah 45: 22  Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else. God’s call is for all mankind to be saved but sad to say this does not happen because all men do not listen to the  call of God.  Matt.20: 16  So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen. Proverbs 1: 24  Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded; 25  But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof: God’s call to man is of: GRACE — Galatians 1:15   But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother’s womb, and called me by his grace,  2 Tim.1: 9  Who h...

Vessels!

I thank God for giving eyes to see and ears to hear and all the other senses we have to enjoy His creation. God uses all His creation to mold and shape us like the potter and the clay. He molds and shapes us into vessels of service. I wrote a poem about little vessels a few years ago that I want to share with you now. We are little vessels, created by God’s hand, put here a little while, to walk in this land. We are little vessels, broken and marred by sin, God knows our every weakness, He wants to mold us from within. We are little vessels, who need saved from sin, by submitting to God our potter, salvation will begin. We are little vessels, saved from sin and shame, Jesus gives us victory, because He lives again. We are little vessels, being molded by His Spirit, because of His love and grace, and not by our merit. We are little vessels, being shaped as He would have us be, perfect in His sight, when the face of Jesus we see. ~Winston Staples

Just Thinking!

JUST THINKING! I am sitting in my study, watching the snow flutter, flutter down, as it hits, the frozen January ground; so softly, softly, not making a sound. God’s presence is all around, His mercy and grace, Oh, how abundant they abound. God’s love surrounds the universe, as He holds and controls, everything in the palm of His hand. He watches His Creation, He loves everything, even sinful man. Because of this love; He offers His amazing grace, to redeem mankind; He sent His Son Jesus, to die on a rugged cross, and through faith in Him His Spirit comes in to abide. So call upon Jesus and find spiritual victory, and not a soul lost. ~ Winston Staples

Judge Not!

Judge not your brother, judge not your sister too! judge not all the things they do. Judge not your brother, judge not your sister too! Would you want them judging you? Dear brother and sister, do nothing to make them stumble or fall, remember God sent Jesus, to live, to love, to die and live again for all. Judge not your brother, judge not your sister too! Just edify them with love, the same love God gives me and you. Judge not your brother, judge not your sister too! Because they believe in Christ, they will be in Heaven too!  ~ Winston Staples

Jesus is Alive!

Jesus Lives! He is alive! He is alive! Come worship the King. He is alive! He is alive! All nature does sing. He is alive! He is alive! Let new life begin, Open your heart, invite Jesus in. He is alive! He is alive! Come glorify our King. He is alive! He is alive! Let our hearts rejoice, And His praise joyfully sing.

What a Friend!

Oh, what a friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bare and Jesus loves me this I know! What great hymns about Jesus! Today we are going to look at a couple more verses that tell us about Jesus.    John 13: 1 Now before the feast of the passover, when Jesus knew that his hour was come that he should depart out of this world unto the Father, having loved his own which were in the world, he loved them unto the end.  John 15: 13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.   Yes, Jesus loves me for the Bible tells me so!   Luke 22: 27 For whether is greater, he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth? is not he that sitteth at meat? but I am among you as he that serveth.    Phil.2: 8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.   Let’s thank God for the humility of Christ and the paying of our sin debt in full and forever. That o...

Proverbs For This Day!

Proverbs 2 King James Version  2  My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee;  2  So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding; 3  Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding; 4  If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures; 5  Then shalt thou understand the fear of the  Lord , and find the knowledge of God. 6  For the  Lord  giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. 7  He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly. 8  He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints. 9  Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yea, every good path. 10  When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul; 11  Discretion shall preserve thee, understand...

Favourite Psalms!

Today I am sharing two short but favourite Psalms; Psalm 23 and 123. I trust you will be blessed as you read them. Psalm 123 King James Version 123  Unto thee lift I up mine eyes, O thou that dwellest in the heavens. 2  Behold, as the eyes of servants look unto the hand of their masters, and as the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of her mistress; so our eyes wait upon the  Lord  our God, until that he have mercy upon us. 3  Have mercy upon us, O  Lord , have mercy upon us: for we are exceedingly filled with contempt. 4  Our soul is exceedingly filled with the scorning of those that are at ease, and with the contempt of the proud. Psalm 23 King James Version 23  The  Lord  is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2  He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. 3  He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. 4  Yea, though I walk through the valley...

Summer Afternoon!

A SUMMER AFTERNOON Sitting in my study, with window open wide, a cool Summer breeze, blows the paper by my side. The gentle breeze, blowing on my face, brings back, so many good memories, like this, that time in my mind, tries  to erase. Now I am trying, to write memories down, because if I forget, there is no one to ask, that still is around. So, on this Summer afternoon, sit and enjoy this day, whether in sunshine or shade, this day, wonderful day, is a day God has made, so no matter what happens, let’s never forget to pray! ~ Winston Staples

So Many!

SO MANY! So many cry out, so many are hurting, so many homeless, so many flirting; so many hungry, so many sad, so many looking for good, so many only find bad. So many want good health, so many are poor, so many want prosperity, so many are not sure; So many seek a good trail, so many find paths not trod, so many get lost, so many need God. So many are searching for Heaven, only one way is found, that way is Jesus so many need Him, so many He has found; So many give HIM Glory, so many will see HIM crowned, so many will bow  to Him, so many confess He is Lord, so many will see their King of Kings, and forever serve their Lord of Lords. ~ Winston Staples

God is Near!

God is near, as I walk in the forest green, and when I sit by waters clear, and I sense His presence, when I view the white tailed deer. I enjoy His presence in the morning still, while walking through a beautiful garden, seeing the lily and the golden daffodil. I know He is with me, while I am walking in a deep valley, or climbing very steep hills. I feel His warmth in the sunshine, and His freshness in the rain, and His gracious hand of mercy, while I am living with my pain. I feel God’s presence, when I read His Holy Word, there He reveals His story, the greatest love story ever heard. When I awake in the morning, I have nothing to fear, I praise God and give thanks, that my Lord is near.~ Winston Staples

My God is Real!

Image
1 Vote   MY GOD IS REAL Some people go from day to day, not thinking about God. Others say there is no God, that He is not real. As I am sitting here writing this I am looking out my window viewing the beauty of nature around me and I wonder how any one could say, there is no God or He is not real. I see my God, in each flower, each tree, in each rain drop He sends my way. I see Him in each wave in the sea and hear His whisper in each gentle breeze. I hear His majesty in each song the song birds sing and I enjoy the blessing their melody brings. I know my God is real, when I see how lives are changed, when they give their life’s reins to Him. I know my God is real when He gives me joy in my times of stress. I know He is real when He gives me strength in times when I am weak and in pain and how He restores my soul when I pray. Yes dear friend, my God is real because I feel Him in my soul. Dear friend I trust that you will believe my God is real and feel the joy He can give your soul...
